Handcrafted by José Vicente in Antigua Guatemala, these earrings draw from one of the most recognizable jewelry traditions found among Indigenous communities in Guatemala. Commonly referred to as Cobaneras, this style has long been associated with the region of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, where similar earrings remain a familiar part of traditional dress and ceremonial attire.

The design features layered silver crescents suspended within a textured teardrop frame, a form that has endured across generations because of its balance, movement, and versatility. Rather than following contemporary jewelry trends, Cobanera earrings reflect regional silversmithing traditions that have been worn in Guatemalan highland communities for decades.

At the center hangs a polished pink stone that creates a focal point against the engraved silverwork. The hand-cut details catch the light while preserving the character of traditional Guatemalan jewelry, where craftsmanship is often expressed through texture and metalwork rather than excessive ornamentation.

José Vicente produces each pair by hand in his Antigua workshop, combining traditional techniques with careful finishing to preserve the historical character of the design. The result is a piece that connects directly to a living tradition still worn throughout Guatemala today.
